In short: DistanceCamera does not collect, store on any server, sell or share any personal data. Everything the app does happens on your iPhone. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and makes no network requests.
Camera
The app uses the camera to detect vehicles and lane lines and to estimate distances. Each frame is processed in your phone's memory by on-device AI models and discarded straight away. No photos or videos are recorded, saved or uploaded.
Location
With your permission, the app reads your speed from the phone's GPS while it is open. Speed is used only on the device, for the optional safe-distance warning based on your speed, and GPS runs only while that warning is on. Your location is not stored, logged or shared.
Data kept on your phone
- Settings and calibration (for example your warning limits and distance calibration), stored in the app's local settings.
- Performance logs: a small file written every few seconds with frame rate, processing time, battery level, phone temperature state and the app's settings. It contains no images and no location. You can see or delete it in the Files app → DistanceCamera → Performance.
This data never leaves your phone unless you choose to share a file yourself. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Third parties
The app includes no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites.
Children
The app is a driving aid for drivers and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
